About the Event
Sew your own insulated pot holders with sustainable fabrics in this workshop led by Vicki Halliday. Make them uniquely your own with your choice of fabrics & details such as pockets, quilting & binding. The beauty of making your own means you can tailor them to your needs if you want them larger or smaller or in particular colours. These would make brilliant gifts for the chef in your life, too.
The business part of your oven gloves or pot holders - the insulating inner - will be made with layers of wool or cotton batting, rescued from vintage blankets & thermal lining offcuts. For the party on the outside, choose from our huge selection of printed cotton fabrics or provide your own to match your kitchen. You’ll sew on our sewing machines & all required equipment is provided.
This workshop is great for all levels of machine sewers from beginners upwards.
Vicki Halliday is the co-owner of The Good Stitch. Before she opened the shop, she worked in theatre & higher education, as a Costume Supervisor, Wardrobe Manager & Costume Maker. Vicki loves sharing the joy of sewing & creating with textiles. She is a patient teacher who believes in the power of self-learning, guiding her students to find that Aha moment & to reach their sewing goals.
