Sew Espadrilles!

How would you like to make Summer espadrilles to match your outfits?

With small amounts of fabric & a bit of nifty sewing, you can create your own unique pair of espadrilles. Vicki will show you how to make a beautiful pair of shoes using Prym ready-made jute bases which have a rubber non-slip sole. Learn how to adjust the pattern to your preference & fit & how to hand stitch the completed uppers to the base.

The workshop includes a pair of soles in size 37 - 41. Let us know your size when you book so we can ensure we have them ready for you. Further soles will be available to purchase so you can make more pairs at home. We have plenty of fabrics to choose from to make your espadrilles, but feel free to bring a special piece of fabric if you want to use it. 

Anything from lightweight silks & cottons to heavier linens & denims can be used. And once you’ve got the hang of it, you’ll even be able to upcycle preloved espadrilles.

All equipment & materials will be provided. As well as hand sewing, there is a small amount of careful machine sewing to complete in this workshop, so it’s suitable for machine sewists from beginners & beyond.

Vicki Halliday is the co-owner of The Good Stitch. Before she opened the shop, she worked in theatre & higher education, as a Costume Supervisor, Wardrobe Manager & Costume Maker. Vicki loves sharing the joy of sewing & creating with textiles. She is a patient teacher who believes in the power of self-learning, guiding her students to find that Aha moment & to reach their sewing goals.
