About the Event
This is a great follow-on workshop from our Introduction to Machine Sewing workshop, or for beginners who are wanting to develop some key skills toward more complex sewing. Vicki will guide you through seams & finishes to make a bag that you can take away with you. These skills will be useful whatever you choose to make next.
Skills you will practice include:
- measuring & cutting fabric
- seam allowances
- French seams
- sewing & turning tubes
- topstitching
- pressing your sewing
All fabric & equipment will be provided for this class, but you’re welcome to bring your own fabric or old clothes to repurpose. Make sure it’s woven & not a knit fabric like a t-shirt, feel free to ask beforehand if you’re unsure. This workshop is suitable for beginner sewers who have been to our Introduction to Machine Sewing class or similar in the past, or who haven’t sewn in a while & would like a refresher.
