About the Event
This new class from Liz Smith will teach about Sashiko as a practice, covering more creative stitching without using templates, understanding the rules that ensure stitch designs work cleanly, & looking closely at stitching techniques, so that you can further develop your own practice. Liz will demonstrate how to mark the designs, handling threads & how to make the magical hatamusubi knot to join threads on the back of the work. You can have a go at stitching with a traditional handmade palm thimble & learn how to make your own. This class expands on Liz’s Introduction to Sashiko class, but will be just as fulfilling for anyone who has never tried Sashiko or any type of embroidery.
You will receive your own thread & needles to take home so you can continue to explore this mindful style of embroidery.
No previous experience is needed & all equipment & materials…
