About the Event
Sew your own pot holders or oven gloves with sustainable fabrics. This workshop offers a great opportunity to learn or practice a new skill - how to apply bias binding & some quilt stitching. The beauty of making your own means you can tailor them to your needs. Need longer or larger? You can do that. These would make brilliant gifts for the chefs in your life, too.
The business part of your oven gloves or pot holders - the insulating inner - will be made with layers of wool or cotton batting, rescued from vintage blankets & curtain makers offcuts. For the party on the outside, choose from our huge selection of printed cotton fabrics or provide your own to match your kitchen. You’ll sew on our sewing machines & have all our equipment to use.
This workshop is great for all levels of machine sewers. The pot holders are ideal for sewists with a little making experience & the pair of gloves are great for the more experienced sewer. Both give you great practice of cutting & using bias binding.
