About the Event
The traditional granny square is a classic pattern & is the foundation of millions of afghans made throughout history. They are quick & easy to make & great for using up small scraps of yarn. You can use them for everything from blankets & pillows, to scarves, hats & bags.
In this two and a half hour workshop Jane will teach you a variety of ways to start granny squares, how to create the granny clusters & how to change colour. You’ll learn how to add a pretty flower pattern that can be crocheted into the centre of your granny squares.
To get the most from this class, you will already be able to chain, and make double crochet and treble crichet . DK yarn will be provided for this class, please bring your own crochet hook, 4mm or 4.5mm as you prefer to use for DK.
Jane Brooker aka Hot Off The Hook is an experienced crocheter & knitter who has been sharing the joy of crochet for many years, first running classes for Worthing’s now closed Wool Bar & more recently hosting her own workshops & a regular Knit & Natter group. Jane has been inspired by ideas of repurposing surprising materials with crochet so watch this space for further workshops.
