Knit Socks in the Round with Marion Cook

Learn how to knit socks on circular needles in a single class! If you’ve already conquered the skills of casting on, knitting & purling, then you’re ready for Marion to teach you all the special techniques to start knitting your first pair of socks. The clever bit is using double knit yarn & knitting a sweet little sock first to learn all the techniques. You’ll learn how to do Judy’s Magic Cast On for a lovely neat toe & short rows for the heels & you can expect to get started on your adult sock before the end of the class.

This class includes yarn, stitch markers & KnitPro circular needles to keep, as well as Marion’s sock pattern, which is easy to follow & will guide you line by line. She will be able to advise on different sock knitting methods that you can further explore & using these skills, you’ll be able to knit all the socks that your heart, and feet, desire.

To get the most out of this workshop, you’ll already be able to cast on, knit & purl. It is not suitable for absolute beginners. We recommend beginners book onto Marion’s Learn to Knit Class.

Marion Cook was taught to knit by her Grandmother and has enjoyed passing on the skill to her daughter. With over 50 years of knitting experience, she loves sharing hints and tips with fellow knitters and having those enlightening ‘have you tried it this way’ moments in a group. Marion enjoys trying out other crafts too, anything textile is fair game, but knitting is her first love and she always has several projects on the go.
