Half Term Sewing Class with Vicki Halliday

Just like our other open sewing classes, bring your sewing project to any of these 2.5 hour long bookable sessions to get help from Vicki & make progress with your sewing. Come to just one session or book a set that fits your schedule. Group size is a maximum of 3 so you get plenty of support from Vicki.

What could you do in these classes?

Get help with cutting out your pattern & fabric, understand commercial patterns, sew buttonholes, zips or finish hems, get help with fitting as you go or even altering a finished garment, or repair your garments so you can keep wearing them.

You can use our sewing machines, overlockers, iron, cutting tables, thread & tools - all you need to bring is your fabric & pattern that you want to work on. Vicki will teach what you need to make progress & you’ll learn new skills along the way.

This class is ideal for sewists who are already comfortable with using the available equipment - sewing machines & overlockers. If you are a complete beginner, we recommend trying out our Introduction to Machine Sewing & Overlocker Confidence! workshops first. We can accommodate youngsters but please get in touch to discuss before booking.

Vicki Halliday is the co-owner of The Good Stitch. Before she opened the shop, she worked in theatre & higher education, as a Costume Supervisor, Wardrobe Manager & Costume Maker. Vicki loves sharing the joy of sewing & creating with textiles. She is a patient teacher who believes in the power of self-learning, guiding her students to find that Aha moment & to reach their sewing goals.
