Embroidery and Embellishing with Abbie Hart

Learn new hand & sewing machine embroidery embellishing techniques as you create a decorative letter in this 2-part workshop. As well as hand embroidery, you will add texture to your work with a sewing machine in an introduction to free machine embroidery. Abbie will help you make your own sequins from plastic bottle lids & add vintage beads to your work. You will learn how to stitch French knots, bullion stitch, daisy chain, satin stitch, couching & beading.

Abbie will show you how to beautifully cover the back of your hoop so that you can proudly display it, or give it as a gift.

To get the most from this workshop, you will know how to use a sewing machine, but no embroidery experience is necessary. All materials are provided & you will keep your embroidery hoop, needles & some threads & beads so that you can continue your work between classes & continue your embroidery journey beyond the course.

Abbie Hart has been using embroidery and embellishments for several years & recently for theatre and film costumes. She discovered a passion for sharing skills and inspiring others as a Girl Guide leader & is keen to continue developing as a tutor. Abbie’s own small business, Crafted With Hart, gives her an outlet for her textiles experiments, arts and crafts.
