Zips Masterclass with Vicki Halliday

Do you struggle to insert zips into your sewing projects or avoid them altogether? Learn how to sew the two most common zips with Vicki in this 2 hour masterclass - a regular zip with lapped finish & an invisible or concealed zip. You’ll learn about the different zip feet for your sewing machine & how to shorten nylon & metal zips for your projects. Vicki will teach you all the tricks to getting a great finish every time, working with sample pieces that you’ll take away with you, along with a booklet to remind you of the steps to foolproof zip sewing.

All materials & equipment are provided. To get the most from this workshop, you will have some experience using a sewing machine & have made a couple of items with a sewing machine. This workshop is not suitable for complete beginners.

Vicki Halliday is the co-owner of The Good Stitch. Before she opened the shop, she worked in theatre & higher education, as a Costume Supervisor, Wardrobe Manager & Costume Maker. Vicki loves sharing the joy of sewing & creating with textiles. She is a patient teacher who believes in the power of self-learning, guiding her students to find that Aha moment & to reach their sewing goals.
